A useful restaurant referral message explains why you are reaching out, makes your financial interest clear, and gives the owner an easy choice. It should sound like a real conversation with someone whose time you respect.
These six OmNom referral message examples cover a first conversation, sharing a requested link, explaining rewards, offering setup help, following up, and answering questions about your experience. Replace the bracketed details, remove anything that is not true, and use only a channel where contacting that owner is appropriate.
Make the financial connection clear
Say plainly that you can earn referral rewards. Put that information in the message with your recommendation, where the owner can see it before deciding whether to use your link. Calling yourself a “partner” without explaining the potential payment leaves out useful context.
The FTC's endorsement guidance emphasizes understandable disclosures alongside endorsements and truthful descriptions of personal experience. These templates apply that transparency principle; they do not establish that every outreach campaign satisfies every advertising, consent, or messaging requirement.
For OmNom, you share your personal invitation through your own device and messaging account. Creating a referral does not send an invitation automatically. See the current sharing instructions.
Six restaurant referral message examples
1. A warm first message asking permission
Use this when you know the owner but have not discussed an OmNom referral:
Hi [name], would you be interested in looking at a direct pickup-ordering option for [restaurant]? I'm an OmNom Referral Partner and can earn money from eligible orders if you join through my referral. Happy to send the details if you're interested. No need to decide now.
If the owner has already mentioned a specific need, name it accurately. Do not invent a previous conversation, claim their current system is failing, or imply that you have already enrolled them.
2. Sharing the link after the owner says yes
Use this after receiving permission to send more information:
Here's the OmNom link you asked for: [personal referral link]. I can earn referral rewards from eligible orders if you join through it. Customers can use your ordering link in a browser for pickup orders. Before deciding, please review the current fees and setup requirements. What would you like to understand first?
Include the current OmNom FAQ. A referral invitation should leave room for questions about the restaurant's operations. Avoid calling ordering “completely free” or predicting savings without checking the owner's actual costs.
3. Explaining the restaurant's reward and yours
Use this when the owner asks what either side receives:
Under the current referral schedule, you and I can each earn 50¢ per eligible order during your restaurant's first 90 days live. Each side is capped at $500 per restaurant, with only the first 1,000 eligible orders earning rewards. I benefit financially from the referral, too. Signing up doesn't guarantee any reward amount. Here are the terms: https://omnom.monster/terms-referral-partner
Check the version assigned to your referral before sending numbers. The current Referral Partner terms, version 2026-09-24-v3, also specify eligibility exclusions, possible reversals, a 30-day hold, and transfer requirements. A potential reward is not an immediate payment. For the fuller explanation, use the referral rewards guide.
4. Offering limited setup help
Use this when the owner wants help gathering restaurant information:
If you'd like, I can prepare a draft with [restaurant]'s hours and menu for you to review. May I use [specific menu photos or files] for that? I can earn rewards from eligible orders through this referral. You would claim the restaurant and personally complete the legal, identity, and payment setup. Please don't send me sign-in codes or bank details.
Ask permission before creating a draft or uploading menu photos, even when the information is public. Keep the offer specific so the owner knows what they are approving. A referral gives you no owner or payment access; the owner controls the draft after claiming it.
5. One respectful follow-up
Use this if the owner previously welcomed the conversation and has not replied:
Hi [name], following up on the OmNom information you asked for. I can earn referral rewards if you join through my link and receive eligible orders. If reviewing a pickup-ordering option isn't a priority, that's completely fine. I'll leave it with you unless you'd like to discuss it.
Choose a time that fits the conversation rather than sending an automatic series. Honor the promise to stop. Silence is not permission to switch channels, contact staff repeatedly, or add the owner to a marketing list. A clear refusal needs no further sales follow-up.
6. Being honest when you have not used it yourself
Use this if the owner asks whether you have personally run restaurant orders through OmNom and you have not:
I haven't used OmNom to run a restaurant myself, so I can't give you firsthand operating results. I'm sharing the published information, and I can earn money from eligible orders through my referral. Let's check your question against the current FAQ or ask OmNom support before you make a decision.
Do not substitute another restaurant's results for your own experience or turn an unverified anecdote into a forecast.
Check before sending
Read the message as the owner would. Is your financial interest obvious? Is the reason for contacting them genuine? Does the message make only claims you can support? Have you respected permission and avoided artificial urgency?
Start with one useful, honest introduction. Review the OmNom Referral Partner program, then choose the example that fits the conversation you are actually having.
