The business-type question in OmNom setup is asking about the business you actually operate. It is not a recommendation to form a new company, and choosing the option that looks easiest is not a reliable way to finish verification.
Use your existing legal structure and registered information. If you are unsure, check your business records or ask your business adviser before submitting. This guide helps you prepare accurate information; it does not tell you which legal or tax structure to choose.
Start with records, not the restaurant sign
A restaurant's public name does not, by itself, tell you its legal structure. Before filling out protected payment details, have the records you use to identify the business available privately.
Check these questions:
- What business or person legally operates the restaurant?
- What do the relevant registration or formation records say about its structure?
- Who is authorized to provide information and complete payment setup for it?
- Are you looking at the records for this restaurant business, rather than another business you manage?
These are preparation questions, not a list of documents that every account must upload. The secure form determines what is requested for your situation. Stripe's connected-account verification guidance explains that requirements vary with factors including country, business type, business structure and account capabilities.
Don't choose a category from a guess
Running the restaurant alone does not establish its legal structure. Neither does having several staff members, operating a food truck, or trading under a familiar restaurant name.
Read the actual choices in your secure setup and compare them with your records. If a term is unfamiliar or none of the options appears to match, stop at that question and ask for help. Avoid changing answers simply to see which choice asks for less information.
OmNom's business-type FAQ recommends checking registration documents or speaking with your business adviser when uncertain. Support can help with the setup process; deciding how your business should be legally organized is a separate question for a qualified adviser.
Have the authorized person complete protected steps
An owner or authorized representative completes the legal, identity and bank portions of setup. Someone helping with menu photos or opening hours does not automatically have permission to complete those steps.
If a referral partner helped prepare your restaurant, you can still review that work while keeping payment setup under the authorized person's control. Do not give a helper your sign-in code or ask them to enter their own information as a shortcut. See who should complete payment setup.
Follow the ownership questions shown to you
There is no universal ownership percentage or one-size-fits-all list of people that this guide can safely supply. Follow the requirements shown in your secure setup for owners and representatives.
If your ownership arrangement is not covered by the form, contact support rather than leaving out someone or inventing an answer. The ownership FAQ explains this boundary.
Ask for help without sending sensitive information
A useful support question describes the confusing field and what you are trying to complete. For example: “I am at the business-type step and am unsure which displayed option matches my existing structure. What is the right support path?”
Do not include tax IDs, identity documents, bank details, passwords or sign-in codes in ordinary chat or an email asking for help. Use the appropriate secure verification form when sensitive information is requested. You can find the official contact options on OmNom Support.
What if verification is still pending?
Finishing the form is not the same as being approved. Check the app for a remaining action or waiting reason, as described in the pending-verification FAQ. Payment verification and the other restaurant-readiness requirements still need to pass before ordering can activate, and there is no guaranteed approval time.
The practical goal is a setup record that describes the right business accurately. Taking a moment to verify an uncertain answer is better than treating the business-type selector as a shortcut around the rest of setup.
